Always the best authentic Chinese dining experience. Sweet and sour fish or sweet and sour ribs so good.

2024: Still the top rated yum cha in town.
Highly satisfying.
2022: Arguably the best yum cha in Wellington. Been going here for over a decade, and it's been the most consistent on all levels.

Food is fantastic. For years this was the only restaurant I'd go to for yum cha with my family. However, recently over the last couple of years, we have been discouraged by the attitude of an older lady working as the server (the younger girls are sweet and kind). A few times the lady has slammed the food on our table and walked away without an apology, refused to even acknowledge us when walking around with food and seemed to look disgusted or even angry at having to bring food to us. This is the reason why I've started looking at other restaurants for lunch. Don't know if maybe we did something to piss her off but it leaves a sour taste in your mouth after a while.
We would spend between $130-$160 each time we visited.

When ppl ask me for yum cha recommendation, Regal is always my first choice. They have nice decent amount of fillings inside the dumplings, service with a smile, they don't charge you an arm and a leg, they don't kick you out after one hour and I think the only down side is that they are upstairs and you can't see it from the street! My favourite is their beef tendon and steamed dumplings, the prawn cheung fun has lots of prawns inside and nice squid too! Brought my picky parents here and even they rave about it, to me that's saying something 🤣
However would only recommend their yum cha, their dinner doesn't quite match 😅
